Gamaran 6, X-Day 1 by Mizushiro Setona, Crazy Girl Shin Bia 14 (m&c! manga and manhwa out nau~)

Street date: 13 June 2012
RL has been totally fractious this week, so apologies for the delay in m&c! Shopping List × NikBabble™ >.<

Erementar Gerad vol 5 was reported postponed—that's confirmed by at least two sources (ECC and Angelzon)—but I'm keeping it here because it IS on m&c!'s official list, plus there's no confirmation yet that volume 5 release has indeed moved to the 4th of July (like, word has it, Flower of Queen 4).
Update: Erementar Gerad 5 moved to 4th July.

Since this is MY blog, and I lurve–lurve–lurve! Mu Young, leading with Crazy Girl Shin Bia 14 by Hwang MiRee (I've only been waiting—oh, an ice age—for a cover like this).

Crazy Girl Shin Bia 14 (m&c!)

Crazy Girl Shin Bia © Hwang MiRee/Samyang
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Yoo Baek suffers the shock of his life in the Holy Land. Not only does the Crown Prince stumble on to his (ex-)fianceé Goddess Bia channeling Sleeping Beauty, he also gets a front row seat to the Prince Mu Young x Shin Bia main event, feat.   ...The Smooch.

You can't blame our beleaguered Yoo Baek for thinking something's wrong with his eyes. That there Crazy Girl Shin Bia is his bride to be! And she's liplocked with Yoo Baek's enemy!

k, now for the top DO WANT!

Gamaran vol 6 of (16+)
By Nakamaru Yosuke

Naoyoshi faces disqualification from future feudal lord contention. Only a few Daimyo wannabes remain — those yet undefeated and who have advanced to the next round of fighting. As Gama grapples with what to do next, help comes from an unexpected quarter. Gama's father Kurogane Jinsuke shows up, and “The Slayer” commands his disciple Ito Ranmaru to counsel Gama and allies in the coming clash against the “Four God Spears.”

Fifteen Gamaran volumes have been compiled in Japan as of April 2012. The 16th streets (streeted by the time I upload this post) on 15 June.

New m&c! titles
Previews after the release list.

New titlesm&c! launches two new shoujo series and a standalone: X-Day 1 by Mizushiro Setona, Runway Sweetheart 1 by Shibano Yuka and Tanaka Wataru and Pandora Restaurant by Sagara Riri. X-Day is prolly the most famous of the three because—as Baka-Updates Manga points out in its Author #199 entry—Mizushiro-sensei is well-known for her series X-Day in which she exhibits an outstanding ability to delve into psychological issues of every nature. And while Runway Sweetheart may not be as heavy going as the ex-Princess Suicide, Chat Rooms, Jealousy X-Day, it isn't as light as its title would suggest either. Shibano Yuka's Betsucomi manga, originally Runway no Koibito adapted from Tanaka Wataru's novel of the same name, not only features cut-throat competition in the modeling world, it also presents it from the Antagonist's POV. So, if you're looking for levity in your manga, your best bet is prolly Sagara Riri's Pandora Restaurant, which first serialized in Comic CYUTT, Media Factory's shoujo web magazine that explores themes of ‘Love’, ‘Healing’, ‘Drama’, ‘Dream’, and ‘Laughter’.

Oh! If you're looking to guffaw, you can also try out the new KOLONI local comic — Nan Nan's Daily Life from Ananda. (Don't blame me for almost forgetting; the last KOLONI title to come out, if my Telor Ceplok database is not #Fail, was Blade Bunny (Koloni Jagoan volume 5) back in November.) Nan Nan's Daily Life appears to be a comedy that giggles "shoujo."

Idol's Love Story 15 of 15, Next To You 6, Justice - The Story of Wyatt Earp by Naba Yuka (m&c! 6 June 2012 manhwa and manga) [UPDATED]

Word is that Aoizaka Baseball Club volume 22 has been postponed, but as it still appears on m&c!'s lists, including it here anyway. «Update: Aoizaka Baseball Club 22 moved to 2012.07.04

Idol's Love Story 15 (m&c!)

[Idol School of Noble's Story] © Han YuRang/Samyang. Published in Indonesia as Idol's Love Story by Gramedia/m&c!

What does Choe Jang Gun think he's doing, convening the Freeman clan up to and including summoning Ian from Switzerland? If he's planning to disclose Lang Land's true parentage, isn't he torpedoing his and Lang Land's relationship into oblivion?

How will this K-drama ultimately end? Obviously, Land Lang lands in the arms of brother Ian, but GET! the Idol's Love Story Happy Even After to make sure. The Ian × Lang Land cover *could* still prove a bait and switch. (Though I very much doubt it.)

Before I get to the newb that tied with Idol's Love Story 15 for top DO WANT!, lemme just say that Han YuRang's sibcestuous manhwa isn't the only m&c! series to wrap this street date. The regular(?) OEL manga romance Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives does, too, with volume 3. (But don't forget, after Blood Relatives volume 3 there's still VK: Graveyard Games, in which Claude—OK, getting too far ahead. Don't even know if m&c! has already licensed GG.)

Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives vol 3 of 3
By Ellen Schreiber
Illustrated by Elisa Kwon

Raven and Alexander's plan to ‘evict’ Alexander's half-vamp cousin Claude from Dullsville is Epic #Fail. Claude and the gang have gotten their hands on the blood-filled vials—does this mean the full-blood undead population in Dullsville is set to asplode?

Because as HarperTeen's Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives volume 3 preview shares, Claude joins forces with Raven's archenemy Trevor, and invitations soon go out for a vampire-themed masquerade party. Could Claude be scheming to turn all of the students at Dullsville High into vampires...?

Find the answer... where else? :P

Oh! One more ending—and this HK manhua even has Serie Finale on the cover to back it up. (Make what you will then of Volume 6 of 6, which streeted last March.) It's Pedang Maha Dewa: Future volume 7 by Tony Wong. m&c! promises this "series finale" links the Pedang Maha Dewa and Fore Story sagas.

New m&c! titles
Debut Justice - The Story of Wyatt Earp is Most Wanted.

Justice - The Story of Wyatt Earp
by Gramedia/m&c!

The year, 1881. The place, the O.K. Corral. The most famous gunfight in the American Old West goes down, and when the smoke clears after 30 seconds (so reports say), only one lawman remains standing, pistol gripped firmly in hand. His name...

...is in the title.

Justice - The Story of Wyatt Earp, originally Seigi - Wyatt Earp Monogatari, started its Comic Historia serialization in 2010. Media Factory published the tankoubon under its MF Comics (Flapper Series) imprint in July 2011. m&c!'s edition credits the seinen manga on the cover solely to Naba Yuka — without mentioning writer Frosh (フロッシュ) who IS credited »here and »here. Seigi - Wyatt Earp Monogatari is apparently Naba Yuka-sensei's debut tank; his/her Dunamis 15 only began its FlexComix Next run this year.

The other new manga are Chocolate Magic ~Dark Spice~, actually the fourth installment in Mizuho Rino's Chocolate Magic shoujo horror series, and Panzer Princess Punie ~Super Great Magical Gap~ by Ohwada Hideki which continues Magical Witch Punie-chan's adventures started in The Great Magical Gap AKA Dai Mahou Touge. m&c! also launches a couple of music and dance manhwa from Kenaz, JAM - Play the Music with Love 1 by Park MiSook and Wicked: Dance with Us 1 from Kim SooYong. Crazy Girl Shin Bia 13, Canvas ~ Rainbow Sketch 3, My Beloved Bodyguard by Sugishippo (m&c! 9 May 2012 manhwa and manga)

Crazy Girl Shin Bia 13 (m&c!)

Crazy Girl Shin Bia © Hwang MiRee/Samyang
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Prince Mu Young unknowingly advances sage Ryuun's (evil) scheme when he delivers Bia to the guru. Upon setting foot on the sacred land, Bia is separated from Mu Young and meets a boy who resembles Crown Prince Yoo Baek.

Who is the child? What secret does the holy land hold? And what is old man Ryuun plotting? GET! the latest Crazy Girl Shin Bia for answers.

As I noted to myself after finishing the previous Crazy Girl Shin Bia (#12)—which I lurved by as much as 8.25 of 10♡ (an A minus grade equivalent)—if you're a prince in this world, whether named Mu Young or Yoo Baek (or Yoo Hui), you want Bia. But at least Mu Young wants Real!Shin Bia, which is waaay more than can be sed for Bia's fiancé Yoo Baek or Bia's fiancé's brother Yoo Hui. :P

Since m&c! obliged with an early artwork upload, LXO peeps hadn't yet managed to agree on the top m&c! DO WANT!, so spotlights here are arbitrary. (I read Crazy Girl Shin Bia and as of this writing, was the only one indicating it as a GET!, so...)

A new (short) series from Nanajima Kana, Never Say No, also double-launches, and Sugishippo's My Beloved Bodyguard debuts. Both Nanajima Kana's Childhood Friend, Older Female/Younger Male, Possessive Lover, Love Triangle Iyada Nante Iwasenai and Sugishippo's bullying-troped Ijimerarekko manga first serialized in Sho-Comi. Goong 25, Idol's Love Story 13, He Doesn't Belong to Me by Kayoru (m&c! manhwa and manga out nau)

Street date: 4 April 2012
Reiterating redux (isn't that a redundancy?) Comic prices have gone up↑ as of April 2012, so what used to cost IDR 16,500 now retails for IDR 17,500. Manhwa ex-Samyang like Han YuRang's Idol's Love Story 13 is now IDR 22,000/volume.

Goong [Palace Story] 24 (m&c!)

Goong © Park SoHee/Seoul Cultural Publishers
[First serialized in Wink]
Published in Indonesia as Goong [Palace Story] by Gramedia/m&c!

Shin gives up his claim to the throne with grace. His desire to remarry ChaeKyeong is also approved. But on coronation day, the new crown prince Yul is nowhere to be found!?

Trust Yul to create a rumpus just when Shin is thisclose to total redemption. :P Yul's last-ditch shenanigans are prolly the reason for Goong [Palace Story] taking two more volumes to reach Happy Even After. Which can't come too soon for me, cuz I've been/am saving up the last seven volumes for a Goong marathon.

Another SNAFU's in the works in the other manhwa streeting on the fourth —

Idol's Love Story vol 13 of 15
By Han YuRang

Choe Jang Gun rejoices over the revelation that Lang Land and Ian Freeman have blood ties that bind, thinking this is his chance to once more nab Lang Land. But the (melo)drama spirals out of control, in a way Choe Jang Gun never expected...

I'm betting Nicky had something to do with the chaos. Must check Idol's Love Story 13 though for confirmation.

New m&c! manga
All new manga: m&c! follows up Kayoru's 1/2 Love antho launched last week with another Kayoru shoujo omnibus, He Doesn't Belong to Me, originally Kare wa, Ano Ko no Mono ex-Sho-Comi. Finally, there's Ikeda Takashi's collection of—seinen?—shorts Platonic Form that, despite being advised as costing IDR 17,500 actually retails for IDR 22,000. Scroll down for previews.
