Sengoku Basara - The Holy War In Dance 3 of 3, Penguin's Love by Fujio Nami, Your Eyes Speak To Me by Nanao Mio (m&c! manga out nau~)

Street date: 1 August 2012

To the final battle stage, hero-tachi!

Sengoku Basara ~The Holy War In Dance~ 3 (m&c!)

Sengoku Basara: Ranse Ranbu © Shimotsuki Kairi/Media Factory [First serialized in Comic Sangokushi Magazine]. Published in Indonesia as Sengoku Basara ~The Holy War In Dance~ by Gramedia/m&c!.

One-Eyed Dragon Date Masamune and heir to Shingen's fire Sanada Yukimura join forces to take down Devil King Oda Nobunaga and end the evil daimyo's reign of atrocity.

Hmm. My adapt of m&c!'s final Sengoku Basara ~The Holy War In Dance~ blurb sounds nothing so much as a thematic intro. Ah, well. *shrugs* I guess that's as good a way to extro as any.

Sengoku Basara ~The Holy War In Dance~ isn't a lonely m&c! series saying Buh-bye~ this street date. Manhwa JAM: Play the Music with Love likewise wraps with volume 3. That preview comes later; for now, moving on to the manga and manhwa (and manhua) newbies that make up the bulk of this m&c! release.

New m&c! titles
As of writing, Penguin Love by Fujio Nami, Your Eyes Speak To Me by Nanao Mio and Sentimental Color 1 by Yoon Jeong were tied for first runner-up DO WANT! Penguin Love, originally Double Baby, first serialized in Betsucomi; Your Eyes Speak To Me or Sono Me, Kuchi Hodoni is ex-Cheese!. (All I know about Sentimental Color is that its domestic Korean publisher is SK Planet.) Since last week was a Nanao Mio asplosion, Fujio Nami's Penguin Love nabs this week's above the cut blog estate:

.

Mei crushes on her school's Mr. Popular, Hagiwara. Unfortunately, Hagiwara treats Mei little better than ‘rubbish.’ One day, Mei meets Rui, a penguin lover who turns out to be Hagiwara's nephew. Order Sphenisciformes, family Spheniscidae specialist Rui sez Hagiwara resembles the flightless aquatic bird he (Rui) dotes on.

Will the ‘penguin’ ever reciprocate Mei's feelings?

(The so-called Hagiwara ‘penguin’ is prolly an Emperor species. :p)

Penguin Love compiles two more shorts, Clown Ballons and Hunting. TC resident manga critic Lina-chan sez BUY! (What else does an 8 of 10 read deserve?)

Look for Your Eyes Speak To Me, Sentimental Color 1 and other debuts—Family Rush 1 (Mashiroke Complex! 1) by Kuze Mizuki, Girl's Love Story (Kanojo to Kanojo no Renai) by Satori Tae, Sweet Love Cafe (Cafe ni wa Amai Wana) by Washio Mie and The Lady of The Lake Mirror by Tony Wong—after the jump.

One hundred percent sure Penguin Love or Double Baby is the first Fujio Nami manga published in Indonesia. (The manga-ka only debuted in 2010.) His/her other solo tankou—which streets 24 August in Japan—is the First Love- and sports-troped Kimi wa Toumei, also from Betsucomi. On the anthologies front, Fujio Nami-sensei contributed a one-shot to the April 2012 Betsucomi Best Selection omnibus Pure Love Seasons 1: Haru ~Hajimete~ top-billed by Yoshinaga Yuu (Distance to a Kiss or Kiss made no Kyori manga-ka).

Restocks: Bleach
Still looking to complete your early Bleach collection, specifically, volumes 1 to 20? m&c! affords you another opportunity window, and restocks the first 20 tanks. (FYI, the latest m&c! Bleach is Vol. 47: End of the Chrysalis Age. In Japan, the newest tank is Vol. 55 The Blood Warfare, released in June. Vol. 56 only streets 4 September.)

Bleach 46, Namida Usagi ~Tears of First Love~ 8, Sengoku Basara: The Holy War in Dance 1 by Shimotsuki Kairi (m&c! 23 May 2012 manga) [UPDATED]

Probability's not zero percent that I will insert NikBabble™ into this stopgap shopping list later. Even if it's only to threaten Narumi if he doesn't shape up in Namida Usagi volume 8 and/or to invite you to giggle at It is a time of civil war, and the young warlords running Japan are... hopelessly stupid Sengoku Basara: The Holy War in Dance—oh, you wanted Bleach? *throws Rangiku-san atch*
Update: Hella long NikBabble™ (you have been warned)

Bleach 46: Back from Blind (m&c!)

Bleach © Kubo Tite/Shueisha
[Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump]
Published in Indonesia by Gramedia/m&c!

Commander Yamamoto launches his final attack. Ichigo takes advantage of the opportunity window to slash Aizen but the wounds he inflicts heal before his disbelieving eyes. Who should barge in before a shocked Ichigo but...

As for why 10th Division lieutenant Matsumoto Rangiku is the Bleach 46: Back from Blind cover girl, Wikipedia offers: Meanwhile, a wounded Matsumoto tries to get to Gin.

Bleach 46 compiles chapters 396 through 404: The Bite, Edge of the Silence, Back from Blind, Deicide and Deicide 2–6. [*NOT m&c!'s chapter titles] Fifty-four Bleach volumes have been published in Japan; Volume 54: Goodbye to Our Xcution released last March. Volume 55 streets 4 June 2012, the same day the BLEACH Spirits Are Forever With You I and II novels—a 10th anniversary effort between Kubo Tite and author Narita Ryohgo (Durarara!!, Baccano!, Vamp!)—release.

Namida Usagi ~Tears of First Love~ vol 8 of 10
By Minase Ai

Momoka is stunned to learn that the photographer Narumi sooo10 admires is a 16 y.o. school girl, which sends her running to some retail therapy—STAT! On her way home from therapeutic shopping, Momoka blunders on to a girl collapsed from hunger. Imagine her Shock #2 when she meets the same girl hanging on to her boyfriend. What's worse, Hungry Girl turns out to be the rumored Hiroki. Jealousy floods Momoka as she watches Narumi gaze—stars in his eyes—at his idol...

Namida Usagi ~Tears of First Love~ 8 collects Stories 42–47 and somewhere within that span, I wanna see Narumi redeem himself :P Does he?

My Namida Usagi vol 8 report card × impreshuns
Instead of the Saikyou rival toujou!! (The strongest rival appears!!) that opens the Japanese volume 8 blurb, I'd substitute wif: Everybody here lurves Momoka. And I mean everybody. Our much in-demand heroine channels her—as another romance protag calls it—"stupid and psycho possessive" but you can't blame her because Narumi's feigning supreme oblivious of her angst.

Does Narumi succeed in taking the edge off Momoka's agitation? I leave that up to you to discover. Yes, that means GET! While I might've wanted to bop Narumi on teh head (numerous times) and cringe over the Shutterbug Nuisance mini-arc continuing for at least a volume more, I still grant Namida Usagi 8 a grade of 7.75 of 10, equivalent to a B+.

New m&c! titles and mangazines
Mentioned the seinen Sengoku Basara: The Holy War in Dance at the top of the post, but m&c! also launches the next martial arts manhua from Andy Seto, God's Domain: The Warrior of Fate, as well as the shoujo Kirarin Revolution Special Edition or Kirarin Revolution: Tokubetsuhen, solely credited to Kirarin Revolution manga-ka Nakahara An (when the Japanese volumes add Ikeda Taeko as collaborator), and Suddenly in Love, Konno Risa's Sweet Boy ni Goyoujin that you might've already read if you're a Cherry regular (m&c! wrapped the first ex-Betsucomi manga to serialize in the formerly exclusively Ciao / ChuChu / Sho-Comi / Flowers mangazine last March).

And speaking of Cherry, the May 2012 edition streets this week, too. Nakahara An-sensei's Rainbow Prismatic Girl (Nijiiro Prism Girl, ongoing serialization in Ciao) debuts, and 3+1 (mini-series) end. Cherry deets, as well as newb previews—I'm drawing out the suspense on Sengoku Basara :D—after the release list.
