New Level titles: Alone ROMICs by Gazzotti & Vehlmann
Seuls, Tome 1:
La disparition
© Gazzotti & Vehlmann
(Dupuis)
Published in Indonesia as
Alone 1: Menghilang
by Level Comics
No new manga but Level double-launches Bruno Gazzotti and Fabien Vehlmann's Seuls bande dessinées that resist returning any English 411 when Gugeled. Happily, the editor of Alone 1: Menghilang (Seuls, Tome 1: La disparition) and Alone 2: Sang Ahli Pisau (Seuls, Tome 2: Le maître des couteaux) comes through with a lowdown that reminds—but hopefully not foreshadows—a Lord of the Flies-esque epic involving a group of children who find their city Fortville devoid of adults and overrun by ferocious circus escapees and rival gangs.
The French Wiki sez Seuls twice nabbed the Youth Award (for the 9-12 age group) at the Angoulême Festival in 2007 and 2010 and won two Grand Prix from Journal de Mickey. (Cette série est deux fois récompensée de Prix Jeunesse 9-12 ans au Festival d'Angoulême 2007 et 2010 ainsi que les deux Grand prix du Journal de Mickey.
)
Worth investi(gati)ng, doncha think? ;)
The rest of the European comics or ROMICs streeting this week are Agatha Christie: Pembunuhan Atas Roger Ackroyd by Bruno Lachard and Cotton Kid: Z Untuk Sorro by Pearce & Léturgie.
